Assurance Only Illinois Insurance Brokerage Named to National "Best Places to Work in Insurance" List

SCHAUMBURG, IL (October 20, 2009) - Assurance Agency Ltd., located in Schaumburg, IL, was recently named to Business Insurance’s “Best Places to Work in Insurance” list and is the only Illinois-based insurance brokerage to qualify. This recognition comes on the heels of similar recognition as a “Best Place to Work” in three state-wide competitions coordinated by the National Association for Business Resources, and business publication’s Crain’s Chicago Business and Business Ledger.

As the insurance industry’s first national ranking for workplace excellence, 19 insurance brokerages and 14 insurance carriers made the list. The companies among this year's “Best Places to Work in Insurance” earned high marks from their employees in areas such as leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisors, and training and development. Peter B. Burke, president of Harrisburg, Pa.-based Best Companies Group says despite the difficult economy's effect on businesses, “The companies that are doing it right are doing it really right. Great places to work aren't immune to bad things happening to them,” said Burke. “But the high-quality workplaces are able to handle it better because of the high level of employee engagement.”
