Assurance University Webinar Discusses Data Security Breaches for Nonprofit Public Sector and Educational Organizations

Schaumburg, IL (February 15, 2012) - Included in the numerous educational opportunities hosted by Assurance University each year, will be a one hour webinar titled “Data Security Breaches: Protect Yourself from Claims and Fines”. The webinar will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. CST and is free for Assurance clients.

With heavy emphasis placed on the internet to efficiently conduct business, claims resulting from privacy and network security breaches have grown considerably in the nonprofit, public entity and education sectors. Many organizations have become targets for hackers due to the abundance of personal information and data stored in their network. As a result, the webinar will examine state-specific regulations and the coverage available to protect your organization from exposures and fines.

Presenter Erich Bublitz, Senior Underwriter at ThinkRisk, will provide an overview of what privacy and network security coverage is and the types of coverage available, as well as explain why nonprofit, public entity and educational organizations are subject to a higher risk of exposure. Each webinar participant will be able to explore recent claim scenarios and how it could impact their bottom line. In addition, Erich will identify the forty-seven states that currently regulate privacy and network security and the fines imposed for each.

You can sign up for the webinar via the Assurance website at www.assuranceagency.com/university or by calling 847-463-7872.
