Michael Alberico Makes Transition into Practice Leader of Assurance’s Alternative Risk Division
Schaumburg, IL (June 20, 2012) - Last summer, Assurance – a “Top 50 Broker” – announced the addition of Michael Alberico to its growing Alternative Risk Division. Bringing nearly 30 years of industry experience, Michael has spent the last several months at Assurance working with the company’s established Risk Retention Groups, including Risk Management Association (RMA) and Urgent Care Assurance Company (UCAC). Effective March 1, Michael will spearhead Assurance’s Alternative Risk practice, as Senior Vice President Bob Barrese steps into a new business development role for the division. Working alongside Barrese, he has immersed himself in the day-to-day management of the groups, solving any issues that arise and moving each program towards continued and new successes.
“Bob's efforts in the Alternative Risk industry have greatly benefited Assurance. We are so pleased that he has been able to offer his expertise in working with Michael to become a Practice Leader for Assurance. The new roles that both Michael and Bob are undertaking will offer our clients and prospects the most dynamic alternatives for their risk transfer strategies,” stated Dan Klaras, Assurance President.
Prior to joining Assurance, Alberico served as a Practice Team Leader for a local insurance brokerage firm, where he was instrumental in developing their construction practice group and sales team. From 1981 to 1998, he held the role of President and CEO of another local insurance brokerage. Alberico graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has served on numerous boards and councils. His strong background in real estate and construction has afforded him the opportunity to become a regular speaker on risk management and insurance topics. His local community involvement penetrates both the insurance industry and local organizations across the Chicagoland area.
