Assurance University Hits it Out of the Park with New Webinar Series for Staffing Businesses

Schaumburg, IL (June 11, 2012) - To ensure your staffing business is at the top of its insurance game, Assurance University will be hosting a 4-part webinar series that will summarize health care reform, recent legislation and industry-specific exposures. The “Staffing Grand Slam Webinar Series” has a webinar scheduled each month throughout the regular baseball season (June-September) and will hit on the Fair Labor Standards Act, Illinois Day and Temporary Services Act, Affordable Care Act and unique loss exposures for staffing companies.

The first webinar in the series will take place Thursday, June 28 on the Fair Labor Standards Act. With litigation exploding and cases being filed daily, you will learn how to keep your staffing agency out of the line of fire and walk away with useful information surrounding the Fair Labor Standards Act, including wage and hour compliance tips.

Slide into two with the Illinois Day and Temporary Labor Services Act (IDTLSA) webinar on Tuesday, July 17, which will discuss the key features of the IDTLSA. Because this is such a complex statute, staffing agencies need to take concerted steps to comply and understand specific requirements. Through this webinar, you will explore best practices for minimizing risk and how potentially enormous classes of temporary workers could be certified under this law.

For our third webinar, join speakers from Seyfarth Shaw, LLP to better understand employee benefit program changes as a result of the Affordable Care Act. The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, August 23 and will explore solutions for dealing with the “employer mandate” requirements scheduled to begin in 2014. Furthermore, this one hour webinar will provide an in-depth discussion of current issues facing staffing agencies with respect to their employee benefit programs.

After you have rounded all the bases, head home with our last webinar in the series on unique loss exposures in the staffing industry. Attend this webinar on September 20 for a review of industry-specific exposures that may be excluded from standard ISO policies and to ensure you are covered from these unique hazards.
