Do You Have a Weight Loss Program in Place for Your Drivers?
If you want to lower your insurance rates and get the most out of your drivers, consider implementing a weight loss program. A healthy weight loss program consists of:
- A reasonable, realistic weight loss goal
- A reduced-calorie, nutritionally balanced eating plan
- Regular physical activity
- Strategies to help participants stay on track with their goals
Getting drivers to buy in to a weight loss program can be a tough task, so ask them what they would like to see in the program. Offer suggestions of healthier foods to eat while on the road. Encourage drivers to walk a few laps around the rig while off duty. Keep them engaged by incentivizing weight loss.
Good habits can be difficult to develop, but when drivers start to see the pounds come off, they often find the motivation to stick with the plan.
