Survey Says: Transportation Workers' Comp Risks
Staffing Workers' Compensation Exposures: Transportation
There are many misconceptions when it comes to arranging transportation for temporary employees to and from client sites. As such, we worked in conjunction with NJSA to survey New Jersey staffing owners on various aspects of their transportation usage (or lack thereof). The findings from this survey have been compiled into a corresponding white paper and infographic.
A couple of key areas highlighted within, include:
- 50% of companies surveyed provide transportation and do so because employees do not have vehicles and can’t afford to pay for transportation
- 10% of respondents who arrange transportation directly transport employees in vehicles they own or lease, creating a workers’ compensation exposure
- 40% of respondents did not know if an employee is injured in a vehicle driven by an arranged outside service whether it’s a workers’ comp exposure
What does all of this mean, especially for companies that currently arrange or are looking to arrange/provide transportation? I’ve summarized the findings and key exposures experienced in our latest white paper and infographic.
