Schaumburg, IL (May 21, 2013) - Assurance is pleased to welcome Michael Rivas to its growing risk management division. Rivas brings over eight years to his new role as Healthcare Risk Services Manager, where he will be responsible for conducting loss analyses and behavior analyses to help clients mitigate their exposure to claims. As a licensed practical nurse and occupational therapist, Rivas understands the pains felt by the healthcare industry, especially as it relates to senior care, and will bring a unique perspective to Assurance clients.
Rivas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Chicago State University and is currently pursuing his Doctorate at Governor's State. Prior to joining Assurance, he was a loss prevention consultant at a risk management firm outside of Chicago. While there, he gained experience reviewing workers' compensation claims as well as conducting loss prevention and trend analysis on the frequency and severity of injuries. Before loss prevention, Michael worked as an occupational therapist.
Jay Shelton, Senior Vice President of Risk Management Services, noted, "It's exciting to know that Michael's understanding of the industry will generate measurable value for our clients.” Shelton continued, "His background in healthcare will help significantly reduce their risk and claims.”
