Who: Assurance staff spent a paid day off work volunteering with Safe Humane Chicago. This Illinois not for profit’s mission is to create safe and humane communities by inspiring positive relationships between people and animals. Their program focuses on benefits of the human-animal bond through education, advocacy and second chances. 

What: Assurance employees provided attention and love to shelter dogs by:  

  • Preparing dog treats and toys for the facility
  • Assembling adoption booklets
  • Bathing 5 dogs
  • Spending time playing and walking the dogs to help with their development before adoption

When: Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Where: Chicago Animal Care and Control

Why: The volunteer opportunity is one of 18 similar events scheduled for 2017 where Assurance employees donate their time to deserving nonprofit organizations. All volunteer days are organized by the company’s employee-driven charitable foundation, Assurance Caring Together (ACT). Assurance employees have donated over 20,000 labor hours in the last 12 years through ACT.
