Schaumburg, Ill. (Dec. 15, 2015) – She can proudly name all 50 U.S. Presidents in order and has made three half court shots in basketball games, but Lexi Bueno, a senior client service representative, has added a new favorite personal accomplishment – being named Assurance’s 2015 Employee of the Year. Bueno, a Chicago resident, was chosen as Employee of the Year by company managers and leaders. She learned of the honor at Assurance’s annual holiday party, which was held on Dec. 4 at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
“Lexi has an infectious personality and a sense of humor that allows everyone around her to feel comfortable and at ease. It’s her consideration of others that lets her connect so well with coworkers, clients and market contacts,” said Assurance chief marketing officer Steven Handmaker. He continued, “Lexi demonstrates a thirst for knowledge and is always looking to improve not only her insurance-related skills, but also her understanding of the staffing industry in which she focuses.”
Originally from Arlington Heights, Bueno graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University. She double majored in Criminology and Law Studies and Spanish Literature, Language and Culture. She’s currently a senior client service representative in Assurance’s staffing industry practice. Bueno assists clients with their day-to-day needs issuing Certificates of Insurance, making policy changes, assisting with classification code requests and working with underwriters through the renewal process.
“Every day I want to make our clients’ lives easier. If I’m providing accurate and prompt service, we can more effectively concentrate on minimizing risk and maximizing the health of clients’ employees,” Bueno said. “I just want to keep kicking butt for a company that kicks butt.”
Assurance has recognized its employees in this manner since 1993, with an expansion in 2010 to accommodate two employees annually as the agency grew. In addition to a cash bonus, employees’ names are engraved on a commemorative plaque that resides in Assurance’s Schaumburg headquarters. Bueno is joined by claims supervisor Leslie Kaderavek who was also awarded this distinction.
