Schaumburg, IL (May 27, 2014) - Assurance, an independent insurance brokerage with offices in Chicago and St. Louis, is pleased to welcome the addition of Sam Maack to its growing Property & Casualty practice. Maack, who will serve as a Vice President, brings over 27 years of experience in the insurance industry. He will build upon his prior construction experience by specializing in large, complex risks and construction accounts with diverse insurance programs. Maack’s goal is to establish ongoing risk management programs that integrate seamlessly with each client’s current insurance program in an effort to protect their assets and bottom line.
“Many businesses are fixated on ‘how are you saving my company money’ rather than ‘how are you generating short and long-term value,'" said Maack. He continued, “I hope to change that philosophy and draw the focus towards long-term client value creation. I’m happy to be joining Assurance and accomplishing that mission with the company’s extensive resources at my side.”
Maack earned a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and currently has a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation. Prior to joining Assurance, Maack worked for another insurance company where he concentrated on a stand-alone project insurance program that produced long-term value for large contractors. Early in his career, Maack also created the first self-funded workers’ compensation group in Pennsylvania.
With respect to the hiring of Maack, Assurance Senior Vice President and Construction Practice Leader Michael Alberico asserts that,“We’re very excited to have Sam aboard, as he’s very knowledgeable on the multitude of exposures facing the construction industry.” He continued, “His strong sales focus and mentality towards effective risk management are completely aligned with our vision and culture here at Assurance.”
