Schaumburg, Ill. (October 20, 2015) — For the sixth year in a row, Assurance – a Top 50 U.S. insurance brokerage – has been honored for its charitable endeavors by the American Staffing Association (ASA). The Care Award is a national awards program that recognizes outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives—business processes that produce an overall positive effect on society — among ASA member staffing firms, associate members (industry suppliers) and affiliated chapters.
Assurance was honored for its Assurance Caring Together (ACT) program. ACT’s mission is to “inspire hope in local communities by becoming actively involved and developing meaningful partnerships with charitable organizations.” After ten years, ACT is now considered one of the cornerstones of Assurance and its culture. The results obtained in a relatively short amount of time have been extraordinary. Here are just a handful of achievements since 2005:
- 90% of Assurance employees take their paid day off to volunteer every year
- 17,000+ labor hours provided to local organizations
- $600,000 donated to charity partners nominated by Assurance employees
- $118,240+ donated by Assurance employees, as well as their friends and family, towards an educational scholarship fund
- $1,405 donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation by Assurance’s staffing team through a 2015 Executive Forum event
“Though we’ve already achieved great things with ACT, we’re excited to see how it evolves as Assurance continues to grow,” said Diane Poljak, senior vice president and staffing practice leader at Assurance.
