Schaumburg, Ill. (October 9, 2014) – Assurance, an award-winning independent insurance brokerage, is pleased to welcome the addition of Timothy O’Neill to its growing Property & Casualty practice and new Chicago office. O’Neill, who will serve as Vice President, brings over eight years of experience in the insurance industry. He will build upon his prior manufacturing experience by specializing in middle-market heavy metal manufacturing accounts with diverse insurance programs. O’Neill’s goal is to understand particular business drivers and metrics of success for each client while uncovering opportunities for improvements that will in turn create measurable value.

“I hope to use my knowledge of the heavy metals manufacturing industry to recognize typical business problems faced by clients and apply our service platform across all disciplines," said O’Neill.

O’Neill earned a Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison and currently has a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation. Prior to joining Assurance, O’Neill worked for another brokerage as practice leader of the metals division. He’s an active member of several industry associations, including Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), American Foundry Society (AFS) and Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society (NFFS).

With respect to the hiring of O’Neill, Assurance President Dan Klaras asserts that, "The niche expertise and ambition that O’Neill brings to the table makes him a positive addition to Assurance. His extensive metals background will have a great impact on controlling risk and improving the bottom lines of our clients.”
